Montreal Canadiens News
Montreal’s AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket, have officially finished the season as the top team in the North Division, the Eastern Conference, and the entire league. This means the Rocket will have a bye in the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs, which involves a best-of-three series for some of the teams that are (much) lower than Laval in the standings.

Sunday Playoff Watch
The Toronto Maple Leafs opened up their series against the Ottawa Senators with a 6-2 win. The Senators outshot Toronto 33-24, however, it was Toronto that quickly built a lead in the first period and never looked back.

The Carolina Hurricanes easily dispatched the New Jersey Devils by a score of 4-1. Newcomer Logan Stankoven scored twice for Carolina.
