  • The Laval Rocket opened their season on Friday, and while the lineup is certainly loaded with talent, players like Filip Mesar and Jared Davidson were left off the opening-night lineup. • 2023 first-round pick David Reinbacher faced former Habs Jacob de la Rose and Raphael Diaz yesterday, but Reinbacher’s day was cut short after an awkward tumble into the boards. He eventually got up but was absent from the EHC Kloten bench to start the second period. There’s been no word on the severity of the issue yet.

  • Forward Robby Fabbri suffered an undisclosed minor injury Thursday and probably won’t play Saturday’s home opener against the Tampa Bay Lightning. “He’s day to day,” Detroit Red Wings coach Derek Lalonde said. “Not likely for tomorrow, but we hope to have him Monday (at Columbus).” [Detroit Red Wings]
