• By now Montreal Canadiens fans are well aware of what phenom Lane Hutson represents in their prospect pool. He’s one of the few, perhaps even the only elite prospect who projects as a game-changing player once he ascends to the NHL. • 2023 first-round pick David Reinbacher was back in Switzerland, taking part in his first game of the NL season for EHC Kloten. He was used alongside Steve Kellengberger, Kloten’s longtime captain, on the top pairing. It was a relatively solid game from the Habs prospect, which saw him make a few nice breakouts in addition to taking three shots. Reinbacher also scored an empty net goal, which shows that his coach trusts him during the most crucial situations, despite being the youngest player on the ice. • Alex Nylander, one of three forwards put on waivers Thursday by the Pittsburgh Penguins, cleared without being claimed by another team on Friday. Andreas Johnsson and Joonas Koppanen also cleared without being claimed.[Pittsburgh Penguins]

• The Boston Bruins announced their roster for their preseason finale. The rookie trio that has improved throughout camp and the preseason was on a roster that head coach Jim Montgomery has said more than once will resemble the one he puts on the ice when the Bruins host 2023 top overall pick and Chicago Blackhawks super rookie Connor Bedard.[Boston Bruins]
• With Jaxon Stauber being sent to the Rockford IceHogs yesterday, the Chicago Blackhawks have whittled their roster down to 30. And yet they’re still not done.
