- The Canadiens added former Edmonton Oilers forward Fernando Pisani to their amateur scouting staff. Pisani’s last job was as an assistant coach for the St-Albert Raiders (U-18 AAA). He was also the development coach for the Edmonton Oil Kings during Kaiden Guhle’s brief time with the team. In addition, Ontario scout Matt Turek has been removed from the Canadiens’ website, replaced by former New Jersey Devils centre Joey Tanute. [TVA Sports (FR)]

- The San Jose Sharks have added a couple of familiar faces to their hockey operations. The Sharks announced five hirings today, Jack Anderson (Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach), Jaren Burke (Amateur Scout, Ontario), Igor Eronko (Amateur Scout, Russia), Ryan Miller (Goalie Scout/Goaltending Development), and Thomas Vanek (Amateur Scout, Minnesota).[San Jose Sharks]
- Jan Rutta was a third-pairing defenseman and penalty-killer during his single season with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He appeared in 56 games, averaging 17 minutes, seven seconds of ice time per game after signing as a free agent from Tampa Bay last summer. Of that total, 2:33 — more than any Penguins defenseman except Brian Dumoulin — came while the team was shorthanded. [Pittsburgh Penguins]
- There should be something for nearly everyone during Red Wings games during the upcoming season. Among the giveaways this season are bobbleheads for Brendan Shanahan, Tomas Holmstrom, Alex DeBrincat, and Jake Walman. [Detroit Red Wings]
