Habs Fan Vote – Ranking Top 10 Montreal Canadiens Prospects
With a fresh batch of Montreal Canadiens draft picks in the mix, it’s time to establish our prospect rankings via our yearly fan vote.
The Canadiens traded a pair of first-round picks in 2025 to acquire top-pairing defenceman Noah Dobson, a decision that was certainly made easier due to the stockpile of assets the team acquired since they started the rebuild process a few seasons ago. That type of deal could decimate a rebuild project, but as it stands, the Canadiens are still considered among the top NHL teams when it comes to their prospect pool.
Montreal Canadiens Prospect Rankings Instructions
It’s a straightforward process, but we need your help to establish our list.
Pick the top 10 Montreal Canadiens prospects in the form embedded below, and rank them between 1 and 10, with 1 being the highest ranking available.
Only rank 10 players, or your submission will be voided.
Rank them in terms of how much value you think they hold in the team’s prospect pipeline. Only one answer per column is allowed.
There are 44 Canadiens prospects listed in total: 24 forwards, 13 defencemen, and seven goaltenders.
To qualify for our list, players must be 23 years old or younger, with fewer than 75 games of NHL experience. Admittedly, it’s an arbitrary cutoff, as the definition of a prospect varies wildly from outlet to outlet, but the goal is to focus on young players who are yet to make their mark in the NHL during an entire season, such as Ivan Demidov and Jacob Fowler, among others.
The prospects are loosely grouped by positions and leagues. Players signed to AHL contracts do not qualify.
