MUST SEE: Canadiens Anderson Fights Wilson On Capitals Bench

Shortly after the Montreal Canadiens took a 3-2 lead over the Washington Capitals, the drama spilled over, with Josh Anderson and Tom Wilson engaging in a fight within the road team’s bench.
In over four decades of watching hockey, I can safely say this is not a common occurrence.
Wilson and Anderson have been jawing at each other all series long, with the Canadiens forward doing most of the heavy-lifting from a physical standpoint. That’s not to say Wilson is shying away from physical play, but he clearly struggles when Anderson is in play.

As a reminder, the last time these two fought (without spilling into the Capitals bench), Anderson easily dispatched his older counterpart.

This is a continuation of the heightened physical prowess now that Montreal Canadiens defenceman Arber Xhekaj is in the lineup. That being said, Anderson was leading the physical charge well before Xhekaj was added to the mix. Anderson has enjoyed a clear resurgence in play, and it has to do with more than landing big hits.
The veteran winger was on the verge of losing his position within the Canadiens hierarchy due to a few poor seasons, but the moment he was used on a line with fellow veteran Brendan Gallagher, Anderson decided to reinvent his game, which is far from an easy proposal when you’ve been playing NHL hockey for several years.
For what it’s worth, Sportsnet isolated Wilson, and he went looking for Anderson.

I can remember the Good Friday Masacare.
Games against Philly
Chris Nilan’s Greatest hits inthe runway
Good times.
I’m a big fan of goals, passes, nice dekes, but nothing gets my blood flowing like a crazy playoff game full of fights and general violence.
The last time I remember seeing anything like this was when Tie Domi fought the fan who crashed through the glass into the penalty box, and the time before that was when Mike Milbury went into the crowd and was beating a guy with a shoe! I LOVE IT!!! Bring on the theatrics! (as long as we come out on top of things) 🤣
Oh, that poor soul that jumped into the penalty box in…I want to say…Buffalo, or maybe Philly?
Domi tuned him up pretty badly.
Philly.
Andy was FLYING last night! And had some HUGE hits!!!
GREAT game!!! GO HABS GO!!!
Wilson is one of few players in NHL history who has committed countless flagrant and intentional major injuries, shortened one career, etc., etc., yet somehow managed to escape banishment all these years.
