Canadiens Preview And Lines: New Trios And Pairings
The Montreal Canadiens are set to play their third preseason game, as they are in the Big Smoke to face the Toronto Maple Leafs. The puck drop is scheduled for 7 pm ET.
Montreal is yet to allow a goal against in preseason action, and though that only represents two games, it’s a rather encouraging sign, especially when you consider the Habs own one of the youngest lineups in the NHL. Both Oliver Kapanen and Lane Hutson stood out in the team’s 5-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers, and will be given a chance to do the same against the Maple Leafs.

They’ll be joined by a relatively young cast of supporting players, including Emil Heineman, who will be given an opportunity to play on the first line, and Owen Beck, who is set to anchor the third line.

The 35-year-old forward is hoping to earn an NHL job with the Leafs after recovering from two brutal Achilles heal injuries, but he is yet to sign a regular-season contract, as he is attending camp on a professional tryout.
