The Canadiens announced the 23-man roster that will be attending the team’s rookie camp, and it must be said that it’s one of the strongest lineups the team has produced in years, as it includes Owen Beck, Lane Hutson, Logan Mailloux, David Reinbacher, and Adam Engstrom.[Canadiens Rookie Camp List Overflowing With Talented Prospects]

The new season and new storylines await. So, too, await new long-running trade sagas. Much like last season, goalies could again be the central focus for a few teams with Stanley Cup aspirations or hoping to snap long playoff absences, and that bodes well for the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins’ surplus in goal could put them front and centre in the trade chatter, and their need to create space (probably) by mid-season makes them a perfect match for a few teams who will likely need to fortify the space. It was called a Gaudreau family vigil that was hosted by Gloucester Catholic High on Friday evening. In reality, it was a sombre, teary-eyed love fest for Johnny and Matt Gaudreau, brothers who were tragically killed eight nights ago when a drunk driver struck them in his Jeep Grand Cherokee as they were riding bicycles near the family’s home in rural Salem County. Gloucester Catholic officials estimated that 1,000 people attended the vigil at the brothers’ alma mater, the place where they starred for the hockey team coached by their father, Guy.
