Habs Game 15: Allen Starts For Canadiens Versus Canucks
The Montreal Canadiens (7-5-2) are set to host the Vancouver Canucks (10-3-1) on Sunday night at the Bell Centre. The puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
The Canadiens had one of their best outings of the year on Saturday against the Boston Bruins, with Nick Suzuki scoring in his fourth consecutive game, Brendan Gallagher scoring a classic Gallagherian goal, and Kaiden Guhle playing the overtime hero.
Montreal Controlled both the shots, high-danger chances, and expected goals, a rather impressive performance given that the Bruins are once again one of the best teams in the NHL.
Guhle, in particular, was fantastic. It was arguably the best game of his young NHL career.

Samuel Montembeault started against the Boston Bruins on Saturday, which means Jake Allen will start versus the Canucks. Both Joel Armia and Jesse Ylonen skated during the team’s optional practice on Sunday, indicating they’ll once again be held out of the lineup.

With 10 wins already in the book, the Canucks are off to a surprisingly great start to the season. Superstar Elias Pettersson is leading the charge with an impressive seven goals and 18 assists in 14 games.
Defenceman Quinn Hughes has also been red hot. He was once considered one of the most underrated players in the league, but that’s no longer the case. Hughes is currently the highest-scoring defenceman in the NHL, with five goals and 17 assists.
The Canucks are on the second leg of back-to-back games, having lost 5-2 to the Toronto Maple Leafs the previous night.
Seeing as Thatcher Demko was given the net against Leafs, former Hab Casey DeSmith will start for the Canucks.
