Montreal Canadiens vs. Coyotes

The Montreal Canadiens (5-2-2) are in Arizona to face the Coyotes (4-4-1) at the Zoolanderesque Mullet Arena. The puck drop is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET.

Going by practice on Wednesday, it appears that defenceman Jordan Harris will sit in favour of Gustav Lindstrom. Lindstrom was used on a pairing with Arber Xhekaj.

The fourth line may look different as well, seeing as Michael Pezzetta is expected to sit out in favour of Jesse Ylonen.

The Canadiens held an optional practice on Thursday morning, which means we’ll have to wait until Martin St-Louis’ pre-game media availability to confirm the lineup.

The same can be said about confirming the team’s starter versus Arizona. We won’t know until shortly before the puck drop, but there are decent odds that netminder Cayden Primeau will be given the start.

Expect Cole Caufield, who currently leads the team in scoring, to continue to drive the offence, with veteran Sean Monahan providing crucial secondary scoring, as well as a stalwart defensive game.

Once again, the Canadiens will face a team that is dealing with a difficult schedule. The Coyotes played in Anaheim on Wednesday night, losing 4-3. Lawson Crouse scored twice, and 2022 third-overall pick Logan Cooley earned his first NHL goal.

Cooley is now up to seven points in nine games, a stat line that is sure to draw some attention in Montreal, as 2022 first-overall pick Juraj Slafkovsky continues to struggle to produce any semblance of sustained offence.

Connor Ingram will start for the Coyotes
