Habs News

  • Montreal Canadiens fans were hoping the Florida Panthers’ pick would end up closer to the top of the first round. But now that the Montreal Canadiens know the pick will be 31st or 32nd overall, it opens up several interesting options for GM Kent Hughes. [Canadiens Trade Options With Florida’s Pick]
  • Although the Habs signed Cole Caufield and Michael Pezzetta to extensions, they still have some big decisions to make on some upcoming RFAs very soon. [Canadiens Restricted Free Agents].
  • When Joshua Roy was drafted, he was an offence-only forward that couldn’t identify his own goalie in a police lineup, but the #GoHabsGo prospect evolved into a 200-foot player that has the right skill set to make the jump to pro hockey. [Prospect Review: Joshua Roy]

  • When Florida Panthers star Matthew Tkachuk took the ice for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final on Saturday night, it was clear he was not himself. Less than 48 hours removed from his Game 3 heroics, Tkachuk entered Saturday night’s game hampered with an apparent shoulder injury. [Florida Panthers]
  • There isn’t much else for Connor Bedard to prove to anyone, let alone the Chicago Blackhawks before he steps onto the stage on June 28th. Yet the 2023 Scouting Combine practically leveled Bedard up again–if even possible. [Chicago Blackhawks]
  • Will the San Jose Sharks shoot for one of the top goalies of the 2023 Draft? It would make sense, since the Sharks don’t have an obvious netminder of the future right now.[San Jose Sharks]
  • Once again Winnipeg Jets centre Pierre-Luc Dubois is on the NHL trade market but again, as is the case with most big-name players available via a trade or in NHL free agency, the Boston Bruins won’t be able to afford him. [Boston Bruins]
  • The going rate to trade for Flyers goalie Carter Hart is two first-round picks, according to San Jose Hockey Now, citing a source. For starters. The source was asked if two first-rounders would start the conversation. [Philadelphia Flyers]
