PLD, PLD, PLD!
I smell an RA offer sheet forthcoming, costing the Habs a 1, 2, and 3 in next draft. Then Dvorak can be traded to make up for that 2.
I’m all in.
I would be shocked if the Canadiens would give up an unprotected 1st-round pick.
Next years draft is not as deep as this one is. Plus the Habs will be better next season and I doubt they finish in the bottom 10. So Its reasonable.
Or, maybe a trade at this years draft…say Habs 1st rd pick from Panthers + Dvorak.
Either way, as soon as PLD came out and said he will NOT sign a long-term deal with Winny this offseason and wants to be traded, the writing is now on the wall…
Next year’s draft is littered with top-end defencemen and two bonafide stars in Celebrini and Eiserman.
It’s not as flashy because it’s a defenceman’s draft, but you’ll hear about the talent in that pool quite soon.
Fine, but Habs won’t be picking anywhere near the bottom to get those guys, so I go back to what I said before…I easily give up a mid 1st and a 3rd in next year’s draft for PLD now.
Mid 1st is bold.
I expect another bottom-10 finish, and that’s too high a price to pay for Dubois.
