Canadiens Wrap-Up: Dubois Trade Talk, Top Prospect Highlights

Montreal Canadiens trade target Pierre-Luc Dubois (2)

MONTREAL — There’s never a dull moment when it comes to the Montreal Canadiens, but many fans lead a very busy life, meaning it’s not always possible to keep up to date with every news story.

Every Sunday we will recap the most exciting and relevant news stories that you may have missed throughout the week.

  • Prospects such as Juraj Slafkovsky, Jesse Ylonen and Cayden Primeau will have a lot to prove next season. [Habs Prospects With The Most To Prove In 2023-24]
  • This season was head coach Martin St-Louis’ first full season at the helm of the team, but thanks to the endless stream of injuries and the marching orders from management it’s rather difficult to judge his performance. However, next year things start to get serious. [Martin St-Louis’ Year-To-Year Results]

  • As mentioned earlier, Joshua Roy has been dominant in the QMJHL, but is he ready for the NHL? A closer look at his current form. [Judging Joshua Roy’s NHL Readiness]
  • Shockingly, Pierre-Luc Dubois was linked to the Canadiens immediately following the Winnipeg Jets’ playoff elimination. There was a hypothetical scenario brought up by Elliotte Friedman that involved Kirby Dach, but it should be noted that the scenario was not suggested by Friedman himself. [Canadiens Link To Dubois Resurfaces Following Jets Elimination]

  • In this week’s edition of the Canadiens Mailbag, we discuss Dubois (SHOCKER!), the 2023 Draft, the Beach Boys, defensive prospect potential, Carey Price’s future, and much more. [Habs Mailbag: Trading For Dubois, Price’s Future]
  • Prospects such as Lane Hutson, Riley Kidney, Joshua Roy, Adam Engstrom, Sean Farrel, and Logan Mailloux have stolen most of the headlines this season, but there’s no ignoring Jared Davidson’s impressive scoring pace, which he has maintained as the Seattle Thunderbirds continue to dominate their WHL playoff opponents. Dach for Dubois is a joke. Dach will likely be the better all around player, he’s younger and much more affordable. Sign Dubois as a free agent … otherwise NEXT.

Either Dubois or Monahan
Not both
We can’t afford the gamble on 2 guys at that price tag while trying to solidify a core….maybe in few yrs at deadline if we’re pushing for SC
