Canadiens Pre Game
Game 81: Teasdale To Make NHL Debut, Farrell In

We’ve reached the penultimate game of the 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens schedule.
The Canadiens (31-43-6) head south to face the New York Islanders (41-31-9) at the UBS Arena. The puck drop is scheduled for 7 PM ET.
The Habs are 4-6-0 in their last 10 games and are coming off a humiliating 7-1 loss at the hand of the Toronto Maple Leafs, a game that put the juxtaposition in talent between both teams on full display.
Mike Matheson continues to lead the Canadiens, both figuratively and literally. The defenceman leads all players in scoring, with five points in his last five games.
Sean Farrell will return to the lineup, featuring on the second line with Jonathan Drouin and Denis Gurianov.
Newcomer Joel Teasdale will make his NHL debut, playing on the fourth line with Michael Pezzetta and Chris Tierney. As for Frederic Allard, he is expected to be on the third pairing with fellow rookie Johnathan Kovacevic.
Goaltender Samuel Montembeault has confirmed he will start the game against the Islanders.
As for the Islanders, unlike the Canadiens, they still have a lot to play for.
Their matchup against the Canadiens is their final game of the year, and seeing as they’re in a heated race for the final Wild Card spot with the Pittsburgh Penguins, expect them to come out firing on all cylinders.
The Islanders are 5-4-1 in their last 10 games and are coming off a frustrating 5-2 loss against the lowly Washington Capitals.
Brock Nelson leads the charge offensively, with five points in his last five games, including two goals in that span. Defenceman Noah Dobson has been the team’s best playmaker recently, registering three assists in five games.
With everything on the line for the Islanders, expect them to start their best goalie: Ilya Sorokin, seeing as they only need one point to clinch a playoff spot.

Thanks for the update on the rosters and injured players. Just one small thing from the defence alignment, Kovacevic is missing as the rookie paired with Allard in your summary of the defence .
I thought Allard was going to be given a lot to do tonight 😂😂
He’s going to be very busy!
Would have loved to have seen Teasdale bury that one he batted out of the air and hit the post tonight early on. Would have been a great story.
