Canadiens Give Health Update On Slafkovsky, To Travel With Team
The Montreal Canadiens offered an update on Juraj Slafkovsky’s return to health, as the 18-year-old is set to join the club on their upcoming road trip.
The Canadiens gave an update stating that Slafkovsky, despite still being injured, would be joining the team on their upcoming road trip. The 18-year-old has missed the Canadiens’ last two games with an upper-body injury and was said to be undergoing more tests on Monday to judge the severity of his injury.
Juraj Slafkovsky n'a pas encore reçu le feu vert pour jouer, mais il fera le voyage avec l'équipe.
Juraj Slafkovsky hasn't yet received the green light to play, but he will make the trip with the team.#GoHabsGo

With the youngster set to join the Canadiens on the road, along with other injured players like Joel Edmundson and Joel Armia, it’s a good sign for the player and the team, as it would imply the injury isn’t a serious one. When the Canadiens announced that he was going to be subject to more testing, many began comparing the quick escalation in Mike Matheson‘s injury prognosis to that of Juraj Slafkovsky, fearing that the upper-body injury could be more serious than previously believed.
The timing of the injury could not have come at a worse time for the 18-year-old, as he seemed to have all the momentum in the world after having scored his first NHL goal against the Arizona Coyotes. He was growing in confidence game after game, and will hopefully be able to pick up right where he left off before his abrupt absence from practice last Friday.

The Canadiens are set to be on the road for the next 10 days, as they travel to Buffalo today to face the Sabres Thursday, followed by a tilt against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, another bout against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday and finally a quick stop over in Winnipeg to do battle with the Jets next Thursday.
The Canadiens are hoping to see some of their injured players return to form during this road trip and reintegrate within the lineup after some time away; and, hopefully, for the young man, he will be one of those returns during this road trip.
