Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price held court with the local media Monday and made it clear that if he reaches a point where he knows he can’t perform to the level he wants and expects, he will retire.

The NHL Department of Player Safety whacked Montreal Canadiens forward Michael Pezzetta with a two-game suspension for his illegal check to the head of Washington Capitals forward T.J. Oshie.

My partner-in-scribe, Marco D’Amico, said he agrees with the decision to not relieve Montreal Canadiens goalie Samuel Montembeault with Price Saturday night after Montembeault allowed eight goals in an 8-4 loss to the Caps.
