The Montreal Canadiens returned to practice Saturday before heading to Long Island to face the New York Islanders in a 2 PM ET matinee tomorrow.

Ins And Outs

Prior to starting this morning’s practice, the Montreal Canadiens announced that Joel Armia and Christian Dvorak took maintenance days. They also will be staying back in Montreal for the upcoming road trip to New York.

Following practice, Montreal Canadiens Head Coach Martin St. Louis told the media that defenseman Ben Chiarot might play Sunday.

Newly acquired net-minder Andrew “The Hamburglar” Hammond is also set to make his first start for the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday.

St. Louis “In The Right Place”

As time rolls under Martin St. Louis’ belt as the Head Coach of the Montreal Canadiens, he is gaining more comfort and is more prepared for every situation.

“I feel like I have gotten better and better. I feel like I am in a good place right now. I feel like, before the game, I come up with a plan in every situation,” said St. Louis. “You try to allocate minutes through everyone and put them in situations to be successful, and I feel I have gotten better and better every game.

Every time I step on the bench during the game, I just have that feeling of, I am in the right place, you know, that is important. All the work in between is hard work, it is hard, but I enjoy that,” said St. Louis. “Sometimes all that is demanding and tiring, but when I step on the bench, it makes everything right, and all the hard work in between the games does not compare to that feeling I get stepping on the bench.”
