NHL Trade

The Montreal Canadiens lost their eighth-straight game Thursday but rookie winger Cole Caufield fed off the energy of new interim head coach Martin St. Louis.

Earlier in the day, the Montreal Canadiens introduced St. Louis to the media and their fans and the Laval native promised creativity, fun, and work ethic.

Another NHL head coach walked the plank on Thursday in Edmonton.

Before their 5-2 loss to the Washington Capitals, the Montreal Canadiens introduced Martin St. Louis as their new interim head coach on Thursday and the hall of famer and 2004 Stanley Cup champion did not disappoint. Dave Tippett became the second NHL head coach in as many days to be fired as Edmonton Oilers general manager Ken Holland had that ‘gut feeling’ it was time for a change.

The lads on TSN Insider Trading discussed that and the potential of Vinny Lecavalier joining the Habs hockey ops department in some capacity, and where Mark Giordano ends up before the NHL trade deadline. What about carrying the puck down ice mid-air?

NHL Network analyst E.J. Hradek found himself in a firestorm after trashing former Canadiens head coach Dominique Ducharme on Twitter.
