Since he returned from Michigan a few weeks back and left his family behind for the rest of the season, Montreal Canadiens defenseman Jeff Petry has played like someone who has checked out. On Saturday night, that was never more obvious as Petry didn’t do anything to stand up for his teammate Sam Montembeaut when Edmonton Oilers forward Zack Kassian barreled the Habs goalie over behind the net.
On Monday, TSN 690 host Tony Marinaro shed some light on the subject that may explain the way Petry has acted on and off the ice and reported that Petry asked for a trade in mid-December. (TSN 690)
