Is Montreal Canadiens head coach Dominique Ducharme now on the hot seat despite being assured his job was safe until the offseason?
Where could Montreal Canadiens defenseman Ben Chiarot end up on the NHL trade market and can COVID restrictions in Quebec and Canada help the Habs as sellers on the market?
It’s Bell Mental Health Day. If you need help, it’s there for you, and always remember you’re in a position to help others every day, even by simply saying hello.
That and more in the latest MHN Puck Links:
As new Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes begins his asset evaluation in earnest, winger Artturi Lehkonen has become a hot commodity on the NHL trade market. (MHN)
Is Ducharme on the hot seat even though Canadiens executive vice president of hockey operations said he was safe until the offseason? That and some NHL trade rumors in the latest TSN Insider Trading. (TSN)
Some interesting NHL trade tidbits regarding the Montreal Canadiens from Elliotte Friedman in his latest 32 Thoughts column. Where could Habs defenseman Ben Chiarot end up on the NHL trade market? How will COVID restrictions affect the Canadiens’ ability to be sellers on the NHL trade market? What about buyers on the free agent market in July? (Sportsnet)
Also, on Bell Mental Health Day, a great interview by FOM (friend of Murph), John Lu of TSN with Canadiens winger Jonathan Drouin about Drouin’s struggle with mental illness and how the break he took from the team and the game was the best thing he ever did.

According to our man, Adrian Dater, in Denver, the Colorado Avalanche may have expressed interest on the NHL trade market in Philadelphia Flyers forward and captain Claude Giroux but as of now, they are not serious NHL trade suitors for him.
I have doubts #Avs are heavily in on Claude Giroux as deadline pickup. I think the “right shot” thing is being overrated as a “need.”
Hey, could happen, but I’m not hearing anything serious involving Giroux

How will the San Jose Sharks cope with defenseman Erik Karlsson being out of the lineup until March? (San Jose Hockey Now)
One word to describe Buffalo Sabres goalie Aaron Dell after this gutless cheapshot on Ottawa Senators all-star forward Drake Batherson: Coward. Dell does this knowing full well he’ll never have to face justice on the ice. Yes, he had a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Wednesday and will likely be suspended but the Senators will never be able to get revenge because he’s a goalie and now they’re missing Batherson long-term.
Again, as mentioned above, today is Bell Mental Health Day and like many, I’ve had my battles and continue to navigate through my own mental wellness. Whenever I’ve been in doubt or wanted to give up, I always listen to this Peter Gabriel song, which my friend sent to me once when I was in a bad place. Don’t give up!
Don't give up
'cause you have friends
Don't give up
You're not the only one
Don't give up
No reason to be ashamed
Don't give up
You still have us
Don't give up now
We're proud of who you are#BellLetsTalk https://t.co/mhbG5isVU7
